Type Of Thai Poetry :
Poetry in Thailand is thought to have appeared during the Sukhothai period. There are many Types of Thai Poetry. Classical Thai poetry can be divided principally into five types: Khloong, Chan, Kaap, Kloon and Raay. Every type has a distinct style and a definite rhythm. Thai Vowel:
The following table wil show the basic vowels of Thai language. Vowels in Thai can be placed on top, bottom, left, and right of the alphabet. Vowels sounds are written by using a mixture of vowel symbols. Each vowel is shown in its correct position. A dash (-) indicates the postion of the initial consonant after the vowel is pronounced. The following dash indictes that a final consonant must follow.
The Royal Thai Instiute also indicate the pronunciation of the vowels according to Romanization and International Phonetic Alphabet. The system is very closed to Northeastern US English. However, there are many variation of romanization as well. |
