Pattani Province:
Pattani province is located on the Malay Peninsula and it is one the southern provinces of Thailand. Pattani is divided into 12 districts which are further subdivided into 115 communes and 629 villages.
Pattani was famous for having a woman rules and the biggest cannon called Nang Phaya Tani. Most of the population of Pattani is Muslim. The general geography of the land is low basin which makes the area suitable for cultivation.
Pattani is home to the most beautiful and large mosque in Thailand. The mosque is called Pattani Central Mosque it is located on the outskirts of Pattani town on the Pattani-Yala Highway. Also close to Pattani town is the ruin of a 200-year mosque known as Kru Se Mosque. This mosque is 7 kilometers from Pattani town on the Pattani-Narathiwat Highway.
