Phu Pha Turm National Park
| Mukdahan is located on the banks of MeKong River and it is around 642 kilometers from Bangkok. The province is popular for its beautiful scenery and is considered to be the gateway to Laos. The province is home to Phu Manorom, which is located around 3 kilometers from Mukdahan municipality, and from its top you can view the beautiful scenery of Mekong River, Mukdahan and Suwannakhet in Laos. |

Mukdahan has many historical and natural sites. One such place that is quite popular with visitors is Phu Pha Turm National Park. The park is located in Muang and Dontan districts of Mukdahan. The park has a mix of deciduous forest on rocky field, rocky mounds covered with wild colorful flowers in winter and mixed forest in the valley. The most common trees found in the park are Malabar ironwood, Burmese ebony, Makhaa rosewood, Indian oak, wild champaka, Siamese sal and Moulmein ceder
The park has wonderful attractions for visitors. You can see a strange-shaped rock, historic cave, and spring and waterfall that flow right around the year. The park is spread over an area of 48.5 square kilometers and is home many different kinds of animals like wild boar, deer, jungle fowl, fox, monkey, hare, green peafowl, pheasant and many different kind species of birds.
The highest peak in the park is Phu Jongsi, which is a rocky mountain around 420 meters above sea level. This mountain has a high cliff and many overlapping rocks in different shapes and sizes. The park is also the source of many springs, namely Huai Taluak, Huai Sing and Huai Ruar.
