Sakunothayan Botanical Garden
| Phitsanulok is historically an important province that was once considered to be the major transportation hub that truly flourished during the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya periods. |
This province is also known for its distinct natural surroundings that include high mountain ranges, natural parks and breathtaking waterfalls that promise excellent tourism opportunities. One place that provides a complete glimpse of all these surroundings is the Sakunothayan Botanical Garden.
Sakunothayan Botanical Garden is primarily an arboretum located in the Wang Thong district of Phitsanulok province at Kilometer 33 of Phitsanulok-Lomsak Road. This garden is believed to contain a huge collection of trees and plants, in which many of them are of medicinal and economical significance. Around 164 species of plants are present inside this park.
Located inside the garden is the stunning Namtok Wang Nok Aen, a 10-meter high waterfall. There is another pavilion that was constructed on the eastern side of the park. Adventure lovers can have a splendid time inside the garden, Located near the park are Sai Rapids, where visitors can enjoy water sports such as white water rafting and canoeing.
