Lan Sang National Park

Lan Sang National Park is located in Tak Province on the Tak-Mae Sot Highway. It is approximately 17 kilometers from Tak city and the park is famous for the beautiful Lan Sang Waterfall. The park covers an area of 104 square kilometers.

Steep mountains and verdant forests cover most of the park. The Khao Luang Mountain divides the park into two parts and the highest peak of the mountain is Oomyod, which stands at 1,065 meters above sea level. The higher levels of the mountain are watersheds and that is why you will be see abundant hill evergreen and hill pine forests. The lower levels of the mountain have mixed deciduous, dry evergreen and dipterocarp forests.

Lan Sang National Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including barking deer, Sambars, wild pigs, monkeys, langurs, flying lizards, golden cats and rare serow, which is type of mountain goat.

Besides the flora and fauna, there are other attractions that the park has to offer. It has Pha Lad, which is a 25-meter wide and 40-meter long sloping slab of rock. The Pha Lad is located in the clear waters of Lan Sang stream and the flowing water first sprays over the slab before plummeting down to a natural pool below. Just 20 meters upstream from Pha Lad is the Lan Lieng Ma Waterfall. Although this waterfall is small, it is worth seeing. As you walk still upstream, you will come to Lan Sang Waterfall. This waterfall gushes out of a narrow crevice and then falls down 3 levels to reach the pool just above Lan Lieng Ma Waterfall. Lan Sang Waterfall is 40 meters high and is very popular with all visitors.
