Khuean Sirikit Dam and Reservoir
| Located about 68 kilometers from the provincial town of Uttaradit, at Tha Pla district is the Khuean Sirikit Dam and Reservoir, which is famous for being Thailand's largest earth dam. |

Built in 1973 over the Nan River, this dam stands 160 meters (525 feet) high and 800 meters (2625 feet) long and covers an area of 220 square kilometers. Originally named as Pha Som Dam, its name was later changed to Sirikit Dam.
Tourists can drive up to the dam and around the reservoir to view the beautiful surroundings. On the other side of the reservoir, there is a beautiful lake, with beautiful scenic beauty and tourists can take a boat ride around the lake. If you visit this area during the cooler months, you will be enthralled by the beauty of the place. With several different varieties of colorful flowers in bloom, you will not feel like leaving this place and want to take up the refreshing beauty of the landscape. You can spend hours here, enjoying the cool breeze and admiring the wonderful scenery comprising of pristine jungle patches and the sparkling waters of Nan River. This place also offers opportunities for performing recreational activities like fishing, kayaking and golfing.
Accommodation in the form of floating wooden guest houses is available near the reservoir. Alternately, you can also choose to experience and enjoy the lives and lifestyles of fishermen and rafters by staying in their houses built on stilts. There are a number of eateries and food joints that serve all kinds of food.
