Klong Thorn National Park

Geographically, the entire area is mountainous with several low, medium-sized and high mountains spread over the entire length of the park. Notable among these is the Kao-Phumiang, which is the highest mountain peak, located on the eastern side of the park and having a height of 1,500 meters. Other important mountains in the park include Kao-Kwumrua, Kao-ngairua, Kao-samliam and Kao-yuak. All these mountains are sources of several streams, gullies and large canals that flow westward and merge with the Nan River.
Klong Thorn National Park is also renowned for various natural attractions and sightseeing spots. Popular among these is the majestic Klong Thorn Waterfall, a 4-step waterfall that originates from the Klong Thorn gully. Waters in this waterfall fall from a height of 20 meters. Apart from this, there are certain other waterfalls located in different regions of the park. These include the Huai Niam Waterfall and the Kokmonkaew Waterfall. Any tourist visiting this national park should visit the Tham Jan or the Chan cave. Another important tourist destination located inside the park is the Kaojedee, a beautiful pagoda-shaped stony mountain that is situated approximately 500 meters from Tham Jan. Other interesting sightseeing spots located inside the Klong Thorn National Park include Pha Phu Miang, Tham Jedee and Tham Suadao.
Climate is mostly cool and comfortable all round the year with the temperatures not exceeding more than 35°C. Camping is permitted inside the jungle. Park authorities provide bungalows and tents to tourists who want to stay overnight in the park. Apart from these, various resorts and hotels are available around the park serving affordable accommodation to tourists.
